Why “The Meandering Ones”?

When we thought about what we’re doing when we’re having the most fun, there definitely was something apropos about the word “meandering”. It seems like we’re at our happiest when we get the chance to slow down a little and let our surroundings dictate our next steps. Whether it’s finding a winery along a turn on a local mountain road or stopping by to photograph something we’ve never seen along a drive to a highlighted destination, all three of us have always gotten our kicks seeing and trying new things that generally end in another great story that always includes new friends.

Our little place here, The Meandering Ones, shares its origin with the company we recently formed, Meandering Run LLC. Meandering Run is the name we gave the stream that runs from our pond to Goose Creek, a waterway that played prominently during the American Civil War. Here in Virginia, the words “creek” and “run” tend to be reasonably synonymous, and we wanted our name to reflect the localism.

Come along for the ride.
